Most Canadian Tim Hortons keep the drive-thru open at least an hour after the dining room closes, according to a third-party guide. Hours vary by store, so check the Tims app. The drive-thru is vehicle-only, and an automated double lane was tested in Ontario in 2022.
A third-party guide dated June 2022 says the drive-thru at most Canadian locations stays open for at least one hour after closing. The same guide says to check your local restaurant, because hours vary. We could not confirm a current chain-wide schedule, so use the store's hours in the Tims app, or see our Tim Hortons hours guide for the usual opening and closing times.
Guests can't walk through the drive-thru. A 2020 statement from the chain, quoted in a Canadian food trade article, says it can't allow guests to walk the drive-thru. The same statement says some truck drivers can't use the lanes because their vehicles don't fit. Both points date from 2020, so check the store's rules on a visit.
The official help centre covers two drive-thru situations: adding items to a mobile order at the counter or drive-thru, and switching a drive-thru pickup to inside pickup. Read the article that matches your order before you drive up.
In March 2022 Tim Hortons began testing an automated pickup format at a restaurant in Tecumseh, Ontario, near Windsor. A second lane lets two customers order at the same time, and the order travels along a conveyor to an automated receiving box with electric doors in the pickup area. The chain said it was testing this at "a handful" of restaurants, as one of several formats it tried in 2022. We found no confirmation that the format is now at your store.
Outside Canada, Tim Hortons announced drive-thru-only restaurants in June 2022. The first was a 900-square-foot store in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, with no dining room. It included a mobile pick-up shelf and mobile order parking spots, and the company planned more in Ohio, Michigan and New York. Both reports are from June 2022, and we found no 2026 update, so check the store before you go.
Offers in the Tims app can be used when you scan for rewards. You can activate several offers at once, but only one can be used per order, and the one with the highest saving is applied automatically. For more on offers, see our deals and coupons guide.

Not always. The same 2020 statement says some truck drivers can't use the lanes because their vehicles don't fit.

Some locations have tested a double lane. The 2022 test in Ontario used a second lane for ordering. Whether your store has one is not confirmed.
Yes. Activate the offer in the Tims app and scan for rewards. Only one offer can be used per order.
The help centre gives three common reasons: points used for a free item instead, the 30-minute gap between offers, or an item not eligible under the offer details.
This guide covers Canada. The third-party guide also lists U.S. drive-thru hours, which differ, and it says to check your local store.
This is an independent guide, not affiliated with Tim Hortons or Restaurant Brands International. Drive-thru hours vary by location, and the store's hours in the Tims app are the reference. Hours and rules come from a third-party guide (2022) and a 2020 statement reported by a trade publication. The automated lane test is from 2022 and may not be at your store. See Sources.
